Prayer Needs and Praises

World & Church
- Iran War. Please pray for God's wisdom and mercy as the US continues considering winding down military action in Iran. Please pray that our actions are guided by wisdom, and that the gospel would continue to go out powerfully during this time of change in Iran.
- Ebola Outbreak. Please pray for God's mercy as the Ebola outbreak continues to expand in the Democratic Republic of Congo, that he would stem the tide and halt the spread of the disease. Pray for comfort for those who have last loved ones to the outbreak, and that God would protect the health and humanitarian workers on the ground.
- B-52 Crash. Please pray for the families of the 8 passengers who were killed in the B-52 bomber crash last week. Pray for His comfort for them as they continue to grieve in this difficult time, and they would seek Jesus.
Church Vision
- Our church’s mission is to Welcome sojourners home to the joy of following Jesus together, and our current vision is Expanding the Tent. Pray for us as we pursue this mission and vision together, that the Lord would give us grace and passion to reconnect with Him, with each other, and with our neighbors in the unity of the Spirit. Pray that our church would continue to take steps of faith toward worshiping and fellowshiping together in person, to more deeply experience His presence in community.
Church Family
- Thank God for His protection as Brother Ching-Wen has completed his second chemotherapy treatment. Please continue to pray that God will bless the treatment with good results and minimal side effects. Pray that God would grant sufficient strength, peace, and endurance throughout this journey.
- Kevin Go. Pray for God's provision and to provide financially as he plans to enroll in the Undergraduate Certificate in Biblical Studies program at Moody Bible Institute.
- Those employed in the public and government sectors. Pray they approach work with a servant's heart and a deep sense of our Lord's joy and goodness. May they find opportunities at work to exercise their faith and boldly testify of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Global Ministries
- Pray for Kat Tang/Putao Lin:
1) Pray for their 2-month long return trip to Houston. Pray they may find rest and fellowship with their friends and family, and that they can share about God's work in Meishan, Taiwan.
2) Pray for the short-term team going to Meishan next month. Pray for their teammate, Dorcas, as she prepares for orientation/debrief. Pray for good communication among team members and for planning and weather to be good.
- Pray for Sister M in East Europe:
1) PTL for their 10 years of ministry among foreigners in the capital city! Many people from more than 42 countries have heard the gospel.
2) Pray for Iranian brothers and sisters, Many & Shahruz and Parastoo & Sonia to become more passionate about studying Him and His Word. Pray God would remove the obstacles that keeps them from fully trusting Jesus.
3) PTL for their Syrian & Arabic speaking group that meet every Saturday, and that some even share their faith online to those in Syria!
Children Ministry
- Praise God for our team of Summer Teachers, including our Youth volunteers! May the Lord fill them with joy as they serve this summer and draw each one closer to Himself.
- Praise God for the smooth start of our Summer Intergen service. Please pray that the Lord will encourage more families to participate and prepare the hearts of parents and children to worship Him together and receive His Word. May families grow closer to one another and deeper in their faith as they are built up in Christ and experience His abundant grace and blessings.
Youth Ministry
- Summer Youth Interns. Pray that our summer youth interns would find joy in serving our youth and working alongside our staff team. May God use this summer to deepen their faith, grow them as leaders, and give them clarity as they seek His direction and purpose for the next season of their lives
English Ministry
- Young Adult Ministry. Praise God for our young adults who led their quarterly community outreach at Houston Food Bank Sat June 20th, and those in the congregation who came to help. Pray that we would continue to serve with joy and enjoy the fellowship of believers as we Bless the City.
Cantonese Ministry
- Pray for members who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. Pray for the effectiveness of their treatments, minimal side effects, and enough strength and energy to go through their treatment plan. Please also pray for their family members who are taking care of them. May our Lord give them strength and patience as they care for their loved ones.
- Our Cantonese Contemporary worship has moved to room 105. Praise our Lord for all the efforts of our coworkers in making this move possible. Pray that the new space will suit the needs and continue to reach out to non-believers and younger congregants among us.
Family Ministry
- Pray for the Father-Daughter Night event on August 8. Ask God to guide and oversee the preparations, ensuring everything proceeds smoothly, to move the hearts of more fathers and daughters to attend, to help every pair recognize the God-given influence they hold, build deeper relationships, and create beautiful spiritual memories rooted in love and faith.
- Pray for MER 1 scheduled for September 5–7. Pre-registration is currently underway, and official registration will open on July 12. May God guide the organizing team in their preparations and ready the hearts of the participating couples, inspiring them to set aside time to gain a deeper understanding of God’s purpose for marriage and to experience renewal and growth in their marital relationships.

- Vietnamese Alliance Church and its pastor Tho Le. Pray for their disciple-making and ministry growth. Pray for continuing partnerships to reach surrounding communities with the Gospel.
- Northwest Chinese Baptist Church of Houston, its co-workers, and its pastor, Ps. Boaz Yang. May our Lord build up and bless their ministries.
