Prayer Needs and Praises

• Nepal Floods. Please continue to pray for the families of those who lost loved ones in the tragic floods in Nepal and for foreign aid teams, that they would be able to get into the country to provide desperately needed supplies and services.
• Iran War. Please pray for God's wisdom and mercy as the US continues military action in Iran. Please pray that our actions are guided by wisdom, and that the gospel would continue to go out powerfully during this time of change in Iran.

• Our church’s mission is to Welcome sojourners home to the joy of following Jesus together, and our current vision is Expanding the Tent. Pray for us as we pursue this mission and vision together, that the Lord would give us grace and passion to reconnect with Him, with each other, and with our neighbors in the unity of the Spirit. Pray that our church would continue to take steps of faith toward worshiping and fellowshiping together in person, to more deeply experience His presence in community.

• Ching Wern Tye. He is undergoing immunotherapy in Houston this week; may God ensure the treatment is effective and grant the doctors wisdom to identify the cause of his current discomfort and provide appropriate treatment. Please also watch over Cindy, who has remained at home in California, and strengthen her heart and body as she cares for their two children. May God continue to guide the family’s path forward, allowing them to constantly experience His grace and peace.
• Those employed in human resources. We thank God for their people-oriented work. Pray that the Lord grants them wisdom and grace as they interact with others. May the Lord add to their joy and help them exercise their faith, representing Jesus well in the workplace.

• Pray for the Seafarer Ministry:

1) Praise God for the co-workers who visited the crews aboard the ships, including Elite Faith, Pacific Gemini, T Matter Horn, New Nation, Loch Lomong, and BBC Odesa.

2) Pray for the salvation, peace, and safety of all the crew members, and ask the Lord to watch over and protect their families back home.

• Pray for Kat & Putao:

1) Pray their family would readjust back in. Pray for the Lord's protection over their health—for Kat's knee recovery, as she often needs to traverse distances using crutches.

2) Pray for their ministry, as they try new ideas. Pray the Lord would use these discussions to open people's hearts to the joy of knowing Christ. Pray for the Family Phonics program, that it would not be just fun for the children, but that the team would also get to deepen the relationships with the parents.

• May God bless and guide our new Fall quarter Sunday School teachers and leaders as we rely on His power and grace to faithfully disciple the children. May the children come to understand the truth of the Gospel from a young age and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, becoming deeply rooted in His Word and love.

• Youth Talk. Pray for our middle schoolers to be attentive and receptive to God’s Word, allowing it to shape their hearts and lives. Pray also for strong connections between middle schoolers and our English pastors, so they may feel cared for and encouraged in their walk with Christ.

• We give thanks to God for a successful Father-Daughter Night! With 100 participants and over 30 staff members and volunteers serving, everyone enjoyed a wonderful and unforgettable evening.
• Blessed Family. May more young coworkers be willing to be equipped for ministry; may the necessary materials—such as course content, lesson plans, and student handouts—be prepared for classes for the parents of teenagers next year, and may the team of coworkers be granted a spirit of unity and a shared vision.

• Fall Season. We praise God for a wonderful turnout last week, where our congregation was able to get to know our different ministries and to give thanks for what God has done in these last 35 years. Please pray for those who signed up for our life and small groups this week, that  our groups would be a new and wonderful home for them in the years to come.

• Praise our Lord that we are about to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of our contemporary worship. Even though there are still many challenges, we see how our Lord has been guiding us over the past year and how our coworkers have grown closer and are serving with unity. Please pray for wisdom and humility as we begin a new year. May our Lord use this ministry to bring younger Cantonese-speaking folks to join our growing family. 
• Please continue to pray for our 2027 Cantonese Retreat Planning Committee as they work on various tasks to prepare for our retreat. Praise our Lord for providing us with a retreat site in Hockley, Texas. As we continue planning, may our Lord guide us as we brainstorm a retreat theme that will truly help both our congregations (traditional and contemporary worship) grow stronger in Christ.

• Ps. Jonathan Lê, Eld. David Fung, Ps. I-Ming Huang. Pray that the Holy Spirit would anoint and protect their bodies, minds, and spirits as they prepare their sermons for Sunday, Sep. 27.

• Vietnamese Alliance Church and its pastor Tho Le. Pray for their disciple-making and ministry growth. Pray for continuing partnerships to reach surrounding communities with the Gospel. 
• Clear Lake Chinese Church and its pastor, Ps. Allan Tsai. May the Lord grant them great vision, and bless their ministries in spreading the Gospel.
